In this novelty taxidermy class you'll learn how to mount a life-size mouse from start to finish and go home with your completed piece! In this one day taxidermy class, you'll be learning how to skin, prep, and mount a life-size mouse. We'll be going over all of the details so that you learn the skills you need to start basic taxidermy. This is a great gateway into the world of this unique art form! Where: Hive and Forge - 30 Church Street, Salem, MA When: Sunday March 14th, 2021 Class runs 12pm-5pm Who: Working alongside licensed taxidermist Nicole Baldelli. She is the owner of the businesses Nikki Deerest Novelty Taxidermy and Lone Fox Taxidermy. She has over 6 years of taxidermy experience and a wide range of background with art and animals. Details: This class is 18+ as we will be working with sharp objects. Parking: There is a lot next to Hive and Forge where you can park. Salem also has multiple parking garages and lots in the area. What's included: All basic supplies needed to complete your taxidermy piece. I will be providing some basic props however I do encourage each student to bring their own props. You can find a whole world of miniature items at stores like Hobby Lobby, or even create a shadowbox display to bring for your completed mouse! See the pictures below for some ideas! We will also provide some light refreshments. Masks are required while in the workshop & establishment. Class sizes are minimal (limit of 5 students) and we are able to social distance. ***No animals used for my classes are harmed for the purpose of taxidermy. I work with breeders, friends, and fellow good Samaritans to source animals that have either died naturally or are a result of the farming/meat industry.
