FRAMINGHAM, MA — Two men were indicted Thursday in a sex trafficking case connected to two former brothels in Framingham.
Samuel Artunduaga Herrera, 47, of Queens, N.Y., and Alejandra Arguello-Uribe, 38, of Framingham, were indicted on charges of maintaining a house of prostitution, deriving support from prostitution, keeping a house of ill fame and conspiracy, according to Attorney General Maura Healey.
The two brothels were run out of homes along Melrose Street and Henry Street, authorities said. State officials began investigating the case in 2019 on a referral from Framingham police.
According to authorities, victims would be forced into prostitution at the two brothels in one-week increments. Up to 30 people who use the brothels, paying up to $50 for about 15 minutes of sex, Healey said in a press release.
