Description

Join us for a special week-long event as we honor those whose lives have been lost to COVID-19 and support all who has been affected. Please mark your calendar for a special week-long event hosted by Yuma Regional Medical Center and several community partners on Saturday, Jan 23 through Friday, Jan 29. Unite with Light offers a time for hope and healing. Together, we will honor those whose lives have been lost to COVID-19 and join in faith to support grieving families, those who have recovered and patients currently hospitalized. We will also pray for YRMC staff who continue to care for our community. Unite for Light will commence on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at 6:00 pm with a special Park and Pray ceremony hosted by YRMC, Z93 and community officials. The Park and Pray ceremony will air on Z93 radio with Jennifer Blackwell and be shared via yumaregional.org/unitewithlight, allowing the community to tune-in from home and participate while practicing social distancing. The ceremony will begin with opening remarks-prayer and conclude with a special lighting of more than 500 luminaries along Parkview Loop representing lives lost to COVID in Yuma County. There will also be a special lighting of YRMC’s six-story tower, a landmark visible throughout Yuma. Lights will remain lit from 6:00-8:00 pm until Friday, January 29. Additionally, a community prayer will be shared every evening at yumaregional.org/unitewithlight. Family members who have lost loved ones to COVID-19 are invited to park in Lot G on the south side of YRMC during the Park and Pray ceremony on January 23 or for the closing ceremony on Friday, January 29. Space in YRMC’s Lot G is limited, therefore tickets for both days will be required. A second Park and Pray location for the general public will be located at Kofa High School, 3100 S. Avenue A, just below Smucker Park. Tickets are not required for the Kofa park area and space is first come-first served.
