Prior to joining SCF, Dr. Sawmelle was an assistant professor of nursing at Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, PA, and associate dean of nursing at the Community College of Allegheny County. "With this opportunity as the Director of Nursing Programs, I can imagine new possibilities of both qualitative and quantitative growth for our nursing programs to meet the community needs." SCF graduated more than 75 new ASN nurses and recorded a 99% passing rate on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN), Sawmelle orchestrated SCF's first drive-through nursing pinning ceremony to allow those graduates to be appropriately honored for their achievements while maintaining safety precautions like social distancing to lessen the risk of COVID-19.
