DENVER, CO — A woman has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a Denver police officer, the Denver District Attorney's Office announced Friday. Alicia Esquibel, 38, has been charged with criminal attempt to commit murder in the first degree and two counts of assault in the first degree, the DA's office said. The police officer was called to a hotel in the 600 block of North Federal Boulevard on Jan. 6 after a report of a woman trespassing and harassing people. While the officer was trying to take Esquibel into custody, she stabbed him multiple times, the DA's office said. The officer was hospitalized with serious injuries.
