Need small rodent cage, any help?

I'm looking for cage or habitat for a small gerbil sized rodent, however cannot even come close to affording the prices at pet stores- they're exorbitant! It'll be a heartbreak for little ones if we can't take a pet offered because we can't pay $100 for a habitat... Food and bedding is doable but right now cage on top of that is a lot! We were hoping that someone might be able to donate a habitat, even without all accessories, or would take a small negotiable price for a complete setup.... If someone was kind enough to do this you'd put so many smiles on little faces!
