CONCORD, NH — Lottery players have two big jackpots this week with a combined value of nearly $1.4 billion. Neither the Mega Millions jackpot, which will be drawn Friday, nor the Powerball game, drawn on Saturday, has had winners in 34 straight drawings so they have big jackpots this week. Mega Millions has jumped to $750 million while Powerball will be at $640 million. The Mega Millions jackpot, if won, will be the fifth-highest lottery prize ever. The one-time cash payout will be $550.6 million before taxes. Powerball's one-time cash payout will be around $479 million —the ninth-highest jackpot ever. Did you like this story? "You can feel the buzz and the excitement — it is incredible. Our sales figures speak for themselves, as players purchased more than $3.4 million in Powerball and Mega Millions tickets last week alone and we expect sales to continue to grow right along with these jackpots. Get your tickets now for two chances to win big." The lottery said Thursday that a player purchased a $20,000 Mega Millions ticket at the Hannaford Supermarket on Coliseum Drive in Nashua for the Tuesday drawing.
