ELMHURST, IL — In the last few days, Elmhurst police have handled cases involving harassment, flattened tires, a suspicious encounter, a scam, a DUI and driving violations. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports: Harassment Patrick Petrillo, 53, of Elmhurst, was cited about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of West St. Charles on a charge of harassment through electronic communications. He was released on bond. According to a police report, he left a victim numerous voicemail and text messages. Tires flattened A resident in the 400 block of West Butterfield Road told police that both her son's and daughter's cars had flat tires in the last week. On Wednesday, she found a nail in her car's tire and believes the incidents are related. There are ongoing issues with a suspect, who related he does not know what happened to the cars. Suspicious A student said he was riding his bicycle home from school about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at South and Poplar when a male teen in a black, newer model sedan (possibly a Ford Fusion) pulled up and a teenager told him to get in the car if he wanted V-Bucks, a gaming currency. The student declined, and the person left. Scam A resident in the 400 block of Hawthorne Avenue received a phone call Monday from someone who stated she was investigating a case of money laundering involving the victim's bank account. The victim provided his personal information to the suspect. An officer told the victim to contact the credit bureaus and the Social Security Administration. Fleeing from officer Lartrell D. Goodwin, 24, of Chicago, was arrested shortly before 2 a.m. Tuesday at Interstate 290 and York on charges of aggravated fleeing and eluding an officer, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, no valid driver's license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, speeding and failure to signal. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. According to a police report, Goodwin failed to yield for emergency lights and sped away. Another officer saw Goodwin's car stopped in the roadway. DUI Geosvani Valenzuela, 41, of Chicago, was arrested shortly before 6 p.m. Monday at Grand and County Line on charges of DUI, driving with a revoked license, leaving the scene of an accident, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and illegal transportation of alcohol. He was released on bond. After a rollover accident, Valenzuela left the area on foot, but was found, according to a police report. Driving violations Mario Perez, 18, of Villa Park, was cited about 12:15 a.m. Tuesday at Larch and North on charges of unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver, operating an uninsured vehicle and improper lighting. He was released on bond. DeAngelo D. Poe, 18, of Chicago, was cited about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday at Prospect and Butterfield on charges of unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver and tinted windows. He was released on bond. Ladarius L. Williams, 19, of Chicago, was cited about 2 a.m. Wednesday at York and Fullerton on charges of no valid driver's license. He was released on bond. He was found to have never been issued a driver's license. Martez A. Whiteside, 28, of Blue Island, was cited about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at Route 83 and St. Charles on charges of driving with a suspended license, possession of marijuana by a driver and no registration light. He was released on bond.Jocyelyn M. Ortiz, 26, of Villa Park, was cited about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Charles and Fair on charges of driving with a suspended license and speeding. She was released on bond.Carlos Flores, 20, of Cicero, was cited about 1:30 a.m. Thursday at York and Fremont on charges of driving with a suspended license, tinted windows, loud muffler and possession of drug paraphernalia under 21. He was released on bond. Charles McEvoy, 35, of Wood Dale, was cited about 12:30 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of North York on a charge of failure to provide information. He was released on bond. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
