ELMHURST, IL — A person in a silver sedan fired shots at another car on St. Charles Road early Saturday morning, but the victim was not injured, Elmhurst police said. About 2:30 a.m., the victim saw a silver sedan following the victim's car driving west on Interstate 290 from Chicago, police said in a news release. As the victim merged onto St. Charles Road, the silver vehicle pulled alongside the victim and fired shots at the victim's car, which was struck with several bullets, police said. The victim reported last seeing the suspect's car doing a U-turn and proceeding east on St. Charles, possibly onto eastbound I-290. St. Charles near the interchange was closed until about 5:30 a.m. as evidence technicians searched for and collected evidence, police said. The suspect's car was described as a silver 1995 to 2003 BMW 5 Series four-door sedan with tinted windows. Anyone with video footage or information about the shooting is asked to call the Elmhurst Police Department at 630-530-3050.
