MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — With retail and food sales going at an unsustainable rate, the Downtown Manhattan Beach Business + Professional Association wants you to take a moment to complete a one-minute survey on reopening the public outdoor dining "parklets" in Manhattan Beach.
The association reports that overall restaurant business is down between 70-90% and retailers are down between 20-80%. "We want to do the right thing in terms of keeping our community safe, but the DBPA feels our restaurants and residents take the protocols seriously and believe we could reopen the 'parklets' safely," said Jill Lamkin, DBPA executive director.
Manhattan Beach residents are asked to complete the survey, which asks if they feel safe with the "parklets" open and "if there is anything else we could do to make it safe to reopen," said Lamkin. The DBPA would like to present results to the Manhattan Beach City Council at its next meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 19. Surveys must be completed by Monday, Jan. 18.
