Quiet Crime Week In Manhattan Beach From Jan. 4-10 Report Shows

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The first full week of 2021 produced very little crime in Manhattan Beach, according to the Manhattan Beach Police Department's latest crime report. One vehicle burglary and seven thefts were reported from January 4-10. The vehicle burglary was reported for the 500 block of Rosecrans Avenue and happened on January 9. The seven thefts, include two listed as "pending" for the date of the crimes and one theft took place in an unlocked vehicle on January 7 in the 4200 block of North Crest Avenue. One theft occurred in the 1500 block of Rosecrans Avenue on January 4. Two thefts happened on January 8; one in the 3600 block of North Crest Drive, the other in the 1200 block of North Sepulveda Boulevard. On January 10, a theft took place at Manhattan Beach Boulevard and North Sepulveda Boulevard. The two "pending" date thefts happened near 42nd Street and Highland Avenue and Bell Avenue and 33rd Street. The Manhattan Beach Police Department reports these "Preliminary Crime Statistics," which are "subject to change and correction" as a way "to give citizens a good ballpark of crime in Manhattan Beach, but they are not official numbers."
