2 Small Fires Put Out In Malibu

MALIBU, CA — Two small fires broke out Thursday night in the Corral Canyon area of Malibu, according to Los Angeles County Fire Station 71. They were close by and broke out within minutes of each other. The first was a grass fire, estimated to be about three quarters of an acre, that burned near the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Corral Canyon Road, according to Capt. Bowman of Station 71. The fire was called in at 9:15 p.m. and extinguished by 10 p.m. The second fire resulted from an electrical problem at Heathercliff and Wandermere roads. It was reported at 9:39 p.m., and was only about 25 feet by 25 feet, before being extinguished at 10:25 p.m. No injuries or structural damage were reported. A portion of PCH near Corral Canyon Road was briefly shut down.
