Los Gatos Man Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash In Santa Cruz County

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A Los Gatos man was killed in single-vehicle collision near the county line between Santa Cruz and Santa Clara counties on Wednesday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol. The 18-year-old was speeding east at around 6:15 p.m. on Summit Road near Timmus Lane when he lost control of his 1968 Chevrolet and struck a tree, according to the CHP. After hitting the tree, the Chevrolet continued up a private driveway and hit a metal gate and wooden fence. The car then overturned and caught on fire, and the driver died at the scene.
