SigAlert: Pileup Blocks Southbound 5 Freeway Lanes In Lake Forest

LAKE FOREST, CA — A three-car pileup blocked several lanes of the Golden State (5) Freeway in Lake Forest Saturday afternoon, prompting the California Highway Patrol to issue a SigAlert. Paramedics were called to the scene on the southbound side of the freeway just north of El Toro Road shortly after 2 p.m, according to the CHP. At least one person was being transported to the hospital and the 1 and 2 HOV lanes were blocked. Authorities did not issue an estimate for when the lanes would reopen.
