Description
Call for High School Poets! The Bolingbrook Arts Council is looking for young Bolingbrook poets interested in bringing their original poetry to another level in order to connect, collaborate, compete, and perform with other passionate and like-minded youth!
The Arts Council will be sponsoring a team of performance poets to represent Bolingbrook in the 2021 Louder Than A Bomb (LTAB) poetry slam festival, the largest youth poetry festival in the world. The festival is broken up into smaller sections and will be held virtually, from February through April 2021.
The Arts Council will review the applications and select up to 10 high school-age representatives from Bolingbrook to participate in the LTAB festival. Those selected will be given an opportunity to perform their original poetry, via video, participate in virtual prep shops from LTAB's very own spoken word teaching artists, collaborate with hundreds of other high school poets, possibly advance to semi-finals, and even final rounds of performing their pieces. With each advancement, poets will participate in additional prep shops and work on teams with other selected poets from Chicagoland high schools.
