Tuscaloosa Police officers were reportedly called to a residence in the 3200 block of 37th Street at 8:03 p.m. Friday after a 19-year-old man said he had just been shot while sitting in his vehicle parked in the 3000 block of Elm Street. Police say he suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. TPD said that victim remained hospitalized Saturday.
Additionally, officers were notified around the same time that a gunshot victim had just arrived at DCH in a private vehicle. The 17-year-old victim told officers that he was standing on Elm Street beside the other victim's vehicle when three men approached, before one opened fire, striking both of them.
TPD said the 17-year-old's injuries were serious, but not believed to be life-threatening.
