EASTON, MA — The Easton Fire Department responded to a head-on crash near Hilliard's Chocolates Wednesday evening, said Fire Chief Kevin Partridge in a news release.
The incident took place at approximately 5:16 p.m. at the intersection of Washington St. and Main St. and involved a pickup truck driven by a man, 57, and a RAV4 occupied by a man, 51, and woman, 32.
Due to vehicle damage, the passengers in the RAV4 had to be removed from the vehicle using a hydraulic extrication tool, said the news release. All three people were transported to local hospitals with injuries that did not seem life-threatening.
"We arrived quickly on scene and worked together to assist the patients in need," said Deputy Jonathan Carroll, the incident commander at the scene, in a statement. "Thankfully the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, despite the significant vehicle impact."
Due to the crash, traffic was temporarily rerouted through the back parking lot of Hilliard's Chocolates, said the news release. The scene was cleared around 6:20 p.m.
The individuals involved in the crash have not been identified and the incident remains under investigation by the Easton Police Department.
