No Foul Play Suspected After Woman Found Dead Inside Apartment

CONCORD, NH — The death of a Penacook woman found inside her apartment on Monday is not believed to be suspicious, according to Concord police. At around 10:30 a.m., officers were sent to the Penwood Apartment complex on Penwood Drive for a check the welfare call about a missing woman who no one had heard from or seen in months, according to dispatch. The woman had not paid her rent in two months, had not moved her vehicle from the complex, and did not answer her apartment door or phone calls, and the building manager requested assistance. Dispatch checked to see if the woman was at Concord Hospital but the facility did not have her as a patient. Later, after officers gained access to the apartment, they found the woman dead inside. According to Deputy Chief John Thomas, the woman had been dead for a couple of months. She was in her late 50s. The medical examiner determined later that there was no foul play involved but specifics about her death were not available at post time. The woman's name has also not been publicly released.
