Car Crashes Through Peoples United Bank In Westborough

WESTBOROUGH, MA — A car crashed through the windows of the Peoples United Bank on Lyman Street in Westborough on Thursday morning. Westborough police said no injuries were reported. The blue sedan crashed into the waiting area of the bank, right near the stands where customers fill out deposit and withdrawal slips. The crash happened before 8:30 a.m. The bank's hours online say the branch does not open until 9 a.m. No word on whether anyone was inside the bank during the crash. The impact of the crash shattered the storefront bank's windows and knocked the car's license plate off. Westborough police and fire crews are at the scene investigating, no word on what caused the crash. The Westborough Building Commissioner was called to the scene as well. Westborough Firefighters are working this crash at People's United Bank at 8 Lyman Street. Building Commissioner requested to the scene.
