QUINCY, MA — Quincy District Court and Norfolk Juvenile Court in Quincy have announced that they will close temporarily for several days due to COVID-19 exposure. The courthouses announced on Tuesday that they will be closed until Jan. 14 for cleaning purposes due to two employees testing positive for the virus. "The Quincy District Court and Norfolk Juvenile Court in Quincy are closed for disinfecting and will reopen on Thursday 1/14/21," said the Massachusetts Court System's website. "Two staff members in the Clerks Office have tested positive - one who was last there on 1/5 and one last there on 1/6." The temporary closure of Quincy District Court and Norfolk Juvenile Court in Quincy comes after the state announced a 90-day plan for operations on Jan. 8. The plan, which will last through April 5, includes staffing court offices at 50% capacity, adopting a phased approach to resuming jury trials, developing jury trial priority plans, and expanding remote operations.
