Press release from the City of Plant City: Jan. 13, 2021 Registration is underway for the PCPRD/Optimist Youth Soccer Program and its 45th season of play. All area youths ages 4-18 are eligible to participate in eleven age groups (co-ed 4, co-ed 5, co-ed 6, co-ed 7, boys 8-9, girls 8-9, boys 10-11, girls 10-11, boys 12-14, girls 12-14 and co-ed 15-19). Age is determined as of 6/1/2021 (birth certificate required). Although we missed our 2020 season due to COVID-19, over 1,300 youths participated on 100 teams in 2019, playing games at the Otis M. Andrews Sports Complex. The season is played from late March through the end of May, with games mostly on Saturdays for the 4-11 year olds and Tuesday nights for the older age groups. The registration fee of $37 covers all expenses, including jersey and supplemental accident insurance. Registrations will be accepted through Wednesday, February 3 at 4:30 pm by mail or in person at the Parks & Recreation administration office, 1904 South Park Road, Plant City 33563.
