BROCKTON, MA — The Massachusetts Appeals Court has reversed an order of suppression allowed by a Brockton District Court Judge in a local drug case, according to a news release from Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz. The charges against Francis Santos, 31, are the result of drugs found during the execution of a search warrant at a Brockton apartment, said DA Cruz. Santos filed a motion to suppress the evidence, arguing that the search warrant was issued without probable cause, said the news release. The motion was allowed by Brockton District Court Judge Julie Bernard in July 2019. On Tuesday, the Massachusetts Appeals Court reversed the decision and "found that probable cause did exist at the time the Trooper applied for the warrant." Following the decision, the case was remanded back to Brockton District Court, said DA Cruz.
