BRANDON, FL — The suspect accused of killing Master Corporal Brian LaVigne on Monday night in a Brandon car crash faces multiple charges, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said. Travis Zachary Gabriel Garrett, 28, faces the following charges, according to authorities: First degree felony murderDUI manslaughterVehicular homicideBattery on a law enforcement officer Resisting arrest with violence Felony criminal mischiefAggravated fleeing to eludeMaster Corporal Brian LaVigne; End of Watch: January 11, 2021 (Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office)"This is one of the most difficult times we have faced as a sheriff's office, losing one of our family members to such a senseless act of violence," Sheriff Chad Chronister.
