TINLEY PARK, IL — Tinley Wine & Spirits in Tinley Park was burglarized early Tuesday morning, according to business manager, Sam, who did not want his last name shared. Sam told Patch that around 6 a.m. Tuesday the front doors of the store were broken into, and high-end products, such as wines and other bottles, were taken. He said the register was taken as well, and that the business was closed at the time, so nobody was hurt during the burglary. "Things happen like this and thank God nobody was hurt," Sam said. "It's part of business, as long as nobody got hurt, we're okay. Damaged bottles or whatever, we can get it back ... Nobody got hurt and that's the most important thing." The manager said he believes two people were involved in the burglary, but he does not believe they were customers. This is not the first time this business, located at 15915 76th Ave., has been the target of a burglary within the village. According to Sam, the business is hit on average once every year. He said the business was last burglarized about a year ago. Sam said broken glass and the fact that the thieves "didn't go for the cheap stuff" were part of the damages the business hit due to another burglary. The manager said many regular customers came to the business Tuesday to check on it and make sure everyone was alright. Patch reached out to Tinley Park Police for further information and did not receive an interview, but did receive confirmation the business was burglarized Tuesday morning. Correction: An earlier version of this article incorrectly referred to the crime as a robbery instead of a burglary.
