Traffic engineering expert brings 20-plus years of experience with regional agencies Jim Roldan, PE, joined HNTB Corporation as associate vice president and project director for HNTB's Traffic Engineering and Operations group in Orange County, California. He is based in the firm’s Santa Ana office. “Jim brings extensive experience working with California agencies including the Los Angeles County Metro Transportation Authority and Caltrans,” said Wayne Feuerborn, HNTB West Division president. “His familiarity and understanding of various agency requirements will be a tremendous asset for the firm’s current and future regional transportation projects.” Roldan has more than 20 years of experience in transportation planning, transportation systems analysis, and traffic engineering design, including traffic signal, traffic handling, transportation construction management, and signing/striping design. Prior to joining HNTB, Roldan served as a senior traffic engineer and transportation planner. He was traffic lead for the SR-241/SR-91 Express Lanes Connector Study for the Transportation Corridor Agencies and the Reno Spaghetti Bowl Express Design-Build Project for the Nevada Department of Transportation. Roldan received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from University of California, Irvine. He is a registered professional engineer (traffic) in the state of California.
