9 Teachers Awarded Grants From Downers Grove Junior Woman's Club

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Nine local teachers have been awarded grants by the Downers Grove Junior Woman's Club (DGJWC). The grants, which will be used to buy books, technology and other classroom resources, were given to: Keri Bernhardt of O'Neill Middle School Jenn Barnick of Belle Aire Elementary School Katie Gallagher of Kingsley Elementary School Georgina Cervantes of Highland Elementary and Herrick Middle SchoolColleen Sciacca of Lester Elementary School Donna Haidle of Grove Preschool Laura Bucaro of Grove Preschool Rachel Bush of Kingsley Elementary School Mandy Zimolzak of El Sierra Elementary School DGJWC Education Committee Co-Chair, Allison McNulty said in a news release, "It was such an honor to surprise and celebrate the nine recipients from District 58 who were awarded Downers Grove Junior Woman's Club Teacher Grants for 2020! The applicants' submissions were incredibly heartfelt and thoughtful. The grants will assist the winners in bringing additional books, technology, resources and manipulatives to their classrooms to further assist their students. We are so proud to have such amazing, dedicated and caring teachers in our community. We cannot wait to see their resources put to great use in their classrooms in the upcoming months!"
