MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — The Mountain Brook High School coaching circle will lose a true champion, as volleyball coach Vicki Nichols announced this week she is retiring. A Village Living report said Nichols made the announcement to her team Monday. Nichols led the Spartans to back-to-back state championships the last two years, and leaves Mountain Brook after compiling a 162-48 record in four seasons. Nichols was an assistant coach at Oak Mountain and Hoover before taking the head coaching job at Mountain Brook. Read the Village Living interview with Nichols here.
