OCEANSIDE, NY — A Rockville Centre man was arrested after police said he robbed one bank and tried to rob another bank Monday morning. Brian Quinn, 45, of Greystone Road, faces a host of charges. Police said he was also involved in several thefts and a third bank robbery last week. Police said Quinn entered Chase Bank 3285 Long Beach Rd. in Oceanside Monday morning. He approached the teller, announced a robbery and demanded money, police said. But the teller recognized Quinn from a previous robbery at the bank and refused to give him money, according to police. Quinn then fled the scene, police said. A short time later, police said Quinn entered another Chase Bank at 915 Atlantic Ave. in Baldwin. He approached the teller, announced a robbery and demanded money, police said. The teller complied and Quinn fled with the cash, police said. Police later arrested Quinn around 3:50 p.m. in Hempstead. In addition to the bank robberies Monday, police said he was also involved in these crimes: Dec. 31: Stole a 2008 Honda Civic in Rockville Centre.Jan. 1: Stole merchandise from a gas station at 2650 Long Beach Rd., Oceanside.Jan. 6: Robbed Chase Bank at 3285 Long Beach Rd. in Oceanside. Jan. 8: Stole a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee in Roosevelt.Jan. 10: Attempted to burglarize CVS at 70 Atlantic Ave. in Oceanside.Jan. 11: Stole a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee in Rockville Centre. Quinn is charged with two counts of petty larceny, two counts of third-degree robbery, fourth-degree grand larceny, third-degree attempted burglary and third-degree attempted robbery. He is scheduled to be arraigned later Tuesday.
