Happy Monday! On this day in 1717 G. F. Handel's "Water Music" premiered on a barge cruising the River Thames in London? This jolly masterpiece, consisting of 3 pieces, was composed for a royal entertainment and excursion hosted by King George I of Great Britain. The King was truly delighted with the new composition, which included beautiful dance forms typical for the Baroque era.
