Description

A 22-year-old man faced multiple firearms-related charges in connection with the deadly shooting of his 12-year-old brother in Boston's Mattapan neighborhood. Sources identified the victim killed as Savion Ellis. Walter Hendrick, 22, of Mattapan, Ellis' older brother, was arrested Thursday and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and improper storage of a firearm where someone under the age of 18 has potential access. According to court documents, Boston police found Ellis shot in the chest on the kitchen floor with Hendrick allegedly telling officers the semi-automatic weapon was his and he kept the gun in a fanny pack. A firearm was located inside of the home, examination of that firearm is still pending. A single shell casing was also located inside the home, said Assistant District Attorney Nicole Gemba. Hendrickwas held on $2,500 bail at his arraignment Friday morning in Dorchester District Court.
