Join us Monday, May 22nd at MetalMark Climbing Gym. This event is open to all skill levels. Instructors will demonstrate proper use of gear and various rock climbing techniques. Rock climbing is a partnered sport and consists of climbing and belaying. Belaying utilizes various techniques to ensure the climber has a safe, enjoyable experience. This course will focus on getting participants comfortable and confident as a belayer. To mutually benefit, all participants will be required to complete belay instruction before they are able to climb. Experienced climbers or participants that have been certified by MetalMark to belay (blue card) can arrive at 800 am. This will allow time to focus on expanding your climbing skills. First time climbers and begninners can arrive at 9am. Together, we can ensure safe, positive, and meaningful experiences in our community. However , if you fail to follow rules, put yourself and other climbers at risk, you will be asked to leave. Event is free but registration is required as there is limited space available. Our volunteer leaders donate time and energy to plan these experiences, paying close attention to the number of people each event can accommodate. Please honor your reservation, and if you are unable to attend an event that you signed up for, take a moment to cancel your reservation so that another community member may participate and volunteer organizers can plan accordingly.
