She is originally from Orange City, IA and is a graduate of MOC-FV. She loves to play volleyball, be outside, and be with friends. Currently her favorite verse is, 2 Timothy 1:7. This verse speaks truth into her anxieties and encourages her to act from the strength God gives to her. If she had two hours to herself, she would spend it outside being active or enjoying the sunshine along with a good non-fiction book. What’s her favorite aroma? Lavender! Julia is looking forward to sharing how she is learning to rely on the Lord through the various challenges and joys of college life. Tessa Miller is a junior at Iowa State University studying elementary education. She is passionate about people, authenticity, and the Gospel. Originally from North Liberty, IA, Tessa loves traveling, serving, and good conversations with friends. Her current favorite verse is, 1 John 3:19-20, because it gives her peace knowing she can enter the presence of God with confidence and without shame. If she had two hours to herself, she would do something artsy like watercolor or read a good book. What’s her favorite aroma? She has two, lavender or orange! She likes spontaneity and being fearless, two things she plans to share with all of us through the power of the Holy Spirit. Hannah Nielson is a gal from Iowa State University studying elementary and special education. Her current favorite verse is, Zephaniah 3:14-17. She loves to connect with people and build relationships. She enjoys pulling people out of their comfort zone and teaching them to swing dance. And if she has two hours to herself, she will be found playing her guitalele or painting. What’s her favorite aroma? Rain! She is looking forward to sharing how God has completely transformed her life and seeing the miraculous ways the Holy Spirit will work! Worship Leader, from H.O.M.E., Alecia HeardAlecia Heard is the Worship Director at the House of Missions and Equipping where she has the honor of ministering to the Lord in worship and intercession in the prayer room. After growing up in NW Iowa, she studied worship ministry at Northwestern College in Orange City. She and her husband, Isaac, now live in Sioux Center with their son, Noah, and dog, Teddy. When she’s not in the prayer room, you can find Alecia curled up with a good novel, running road races, or baking something sweet in the kitchen. Theme verse: 2 Corinthians 2:14-17 ERVBut thanks be to God, who always leads us in victory through Christ. God uses us to spread His knowledge everywhere like a sweet-smelling perfume (aroma). Our offering to God is to be the perfume of Christ that goes out to those who are being saved and to those who are being lost. To those who are being lost, this perfume (aroma) smells like death, and it brings them death. But to those who are being saved, it has the sweet smell (aroma) of life, and it brings them life. So who is good enough to do this work? Certainly not those who are out there selling God’s message for a profit! But we don’t do that. With Christ’s help we speak God’s truth honestly, knowing that we must answer to Him. *parenthesis added
