Our theme is: "Ubuntu!" Honoring the Legacy of Malcolm X by Embracing Humanity. "We declare our right on this earth...to be a human being..." Malcolm X Conversations will be based on five protective factors that strengthen families and communities: resilience, social connections, knowledge, concrete support, and communication. The event is co-sponsored by the Cape/Fear/Fayetteville Association of Black Social Workers, River Jordan Council on African American Heritage, and the Umoja Group. It is our hope that individuals, families, and organizations will build on these conversations and host their own events in relation to the concept of embracing humanity. "I am because you are." Feel free to donate a new/gently used book for a child. Bring your business cards and/or flyers if you offer services or resources for the betterment of our community.
