21st-Century Preaching: Gleaning Method—Luther, Gerhard, Walther We will walk through Johann Gerhard’s methodology for preaching as well as that of early Missouri. We will compare this to classical rhetorical training as encapsulated in Cicero. Finally, we will walk through some of Luther’s and Walther’s preaching to see how they fit this same pattern.
