Description
Open Roads Bike Program is a non-profit youth development program that seeks to engage and empower youth through bicycles. They provide a variety of repair services for Kalamazoo youth residents, and function as an outlet for used, old, and rusty bikes that may have fallen into disrepair. Open Roads accepts any and all bike donations; they repair and reuse all the bikes and parts possible, while triaging everything else. Join us on Tuesday, June 27 at Old Dog Tavern’s back patio area to hear from Isaac Green, executive director of Open Roads Bike Program. Isaac will share where Open Roads is now and how it got here over the past 15 years. He will cover youth involvement, how you as a community member can get involved, and what sustainability looks like for Open Roads. There will also be a bike repair station on site if you want to learn how to make any quick repairs to your bicycle! About the Speaker: Isaac Green is the executive director at Open Roads Bike Program. A seasoned bicycle commuter, Isaac took charge of Open Roads in June 2021. Isaac can be found in-and-around the Vine neighborhood, biking to work, playing with his dogs, and always trying to find new trails to ride.
