We invite you to register for the 34th Annual Pan-Afrikan recognition Celebration (BLACK Grad) on Saturday, May 20th, 2023, 5PM-7PM, 5:00pm-7:00pm in the TSU Pavilions ABC. This event is an opportunity for family and friends to celebrate the accomplishments of our Black/African American graduates. Students who attend and participate in the ceremony will be individually recognized and receive a sash. We encourage participants and their guest arrive as early as 4PM. You must attend the BLACK Grad in full 5pm-7pm on Saturday, May 20th to receive your sash. The reception which is hosted by the CSUF Black Faculty and Staff Association (BFSA) will take place following the ceremony in the TSU Courtyard from 7PM-8PM is optional. We encourage graduates and their guest to attend the reception which will have refreshments such as water, cookies and mini cakes for you and your guest to enjoy. Tickets are required for the graduates and their guests. Please have your tickets readily available via in person or digitally to check in the event upon arrival to check into the ceremony. You can obtain your PARC ticket and guest tickets via Eventbrite. Parking will be available free of charge in the State College Parking Structure. (Campus Map). Please reserve handicap parking and plenty of first level parking for guests with disabilities and accommodation needs. In keeping with the ceremonial nature of this event, academic regalia (cap and gown) is required for all graduates. Graduates are guest should arrive no earlier than 3:45pm. Doors open for guest seating at 4PM. The ceremony will start at 5:00pm sharp. We will have accommodation seating at the front of the venue for guests with disabilities and accommodations seating. Graduates must attend the ceremony to receive a stole, certificate of participation and a commemorative booklet. A reception with light refreshment will be held in the TSU Courtyard hosted by BFSA. We will have CSUF theme step and repeat/backgrounds for you can and your families and friends to take photos.
