Whether you’re looking to experience a race track for the first time or improve your skills behind the wheel, we’ve designed the ultimate program to get you started with performance driving. Taste of the Track has partnered with Sports Car Driving Association to offer a lightweight package for novice-level drivers at some of America's most legendary circuits. Here’s what we have planned: Expert coaching Highly trained coaches will be guiding you throughout the event. Get specific feedback during car control exercises and while you’re on track.Car control sessions Experience the car near its limits in a safe environment on the skid pad. Learn to drive better with driving exercises and cornering drills.. Visualize and control your car path through slalom exercisesOn-track laps Experience driving on a racetrack for the first time at an approachable speed with guidance from of our dedicated coaches. What to expectThis program is specifically designed to introduce you to performance driving in a safe, controlled environment: No prior experience is required. Just show up with your car in good condition and our expert team will take care of the rest. Almost any type of car will work. Most daily drivers perform perfectly well at our events, no modifications or upgrades are necessary. (Note: This location does not support SUVs and has some limitations on convertibles) Session Overview: We have two identical sessions available during the morning or afternoon based on your preference: AM Session: 9.00 AM to 1.30 PM | PM Session: 1.00 PM to 5.30 PM Schedule Overview. (Note: A detailed schedule will be sent out 48 hours prior to the event) 30 min - Welcome and Vehicle Inspection 15 min - Introduction and Drivers Meeting 25 min - Introduction to performance driving (Class Room 1) 30 mins - Track Session 1 - Driving on Track, learning Car Control 25 mins - Class Room 2 30 mins - Track Session 2 - On Track laps with coaching 15 mins - Wrap up Questions?Having doubts or need more information? You do NOT need a track-oriented car for this program. Any regular car, can be driven in our program. Weight can be a problem on the track – so heavy SUV’s like Tahoes, or high center of gravity vehicles are not appropriate for what we do. There are restrictions on convertibles, with the need for roll-bars to be in the deployed state during the event. Is there equipment I need besides a car? You do not need any additional equipment to participate in this program. Do I need to make modifications to my car? No modifications are needed to get started.
