You say it’s OUR birthday! That’s right, friends, The Venue is turning four this year! And what a Fab Four journey it has been! We want to celebrate in style and figured the best way to do it was to have a Beatles Birthday Bash! Join us outdoors on Friday, June 2nd in beautiful Mundy Park for a live Beatles extravaganza like no other, we will start the evening off with an acoustic set followed by two main headliners - Phil Angotti & Friends and our very own Album Covers Beatles crew. Come early and dig on Rachel Drew & Rob Newhouse too before the main event! Album Covers will “get back” with The Get Back Sessions. Our Album Covers Beatles crew brings us back to where we started. Their performance of Abbey Road was the very first Album Covers show. The group set the standard for the series that followed. The same group was also featured at our very first outdoor show in Mundy Park when we returned to live programming in 2021 after the mandated closure. Rubber Soul and Abbey Road were both played in front of an ecstatic crowd of people who were thrilled to hear live music at The Venue again. Peter Jackson’s film, Get Back, has brought a lot of attention to the later years and the AC crew found it fitting to choose these sessions as a focal point. In addition to the Get Back material, the band will bring some additional Beatles favorites along for the ride! ABOUT THE ARTISTS Phil Angotti is one of Chicago’s leading Beatles experts. His performances are legendary. Phil’s friends are also a Who’s Who of Chicago Beatles lore. Joining him will be Tom Ryan, Blair Holmes and Casey McDonough (The Flat Five, NRBQ). The ensemble will perform A Hard Day’s Night in its entirety as a salute to our wonderful patrons and volunteers who have kept us afloat through thick and thin over the last four years. The pandemic may have given us some “hard day’s nights”, but our patrons and volunteers have proven that we do indeed “get by with a little help from our friends.” In addition to the music, we have some cool vendors and food options lined up. Don't forget, this event takes place on First Friday, so allow plenty of time for parking. As always, we allow patrons to bring in food, but absolutely no glass or outside beverages allowed in the park.
