Interested in learning about the upcoming changes concerning Downtown Santa Barbara? Join us at Fox Wine Co. for our General Meeting on June 15. The main presentation will focus on the State Street Master Plan, followed by a short presentation concerning updates from AIA California and the upcoming AIA Conference. Presenters: Tess Harris: Tess is the lead planner for the State Street Master Plan and has been with the county as a supervising planner for over four years. She received a Bacherlor's degree in Environmental Studies and English from UCSB and a Master's degree in International Environmental Policy from the Middlebury Institute of Interntational Studies at Monterey. She is a member of the American Planning Association. Elias Isaccson, Assoc. AIA: Elias is an architect and formally served as the Planning and Land Use Director for the City of Santa Fe. As the Community Development Director, he oversees planning and development services, building and safety, and housing and human services. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Geography from the University of Wisconsin, a Master’s degree in Urban Design and Development from University of Pennsylvania, and a Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of New Mexico. He is a member of the American Planning Association and the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Scott Gaudineer, AIA: Scott is an architect and the CEO of Flewelling & Moody. In 2022, he became the vice president of AIA California. Gaudineer is no stranger to the AIA at the local and state level. He has been serving on his local board, the state executive committee, or volunteering with the California Architectural Foundation since 1991. His goals over the next two years are to further develop the local advocacy network in all chapters; to cultivate and support partnerships with allied organizations to strengthen the profession’s voice, and to increase outreach to colleges, universities, and high schools in order to engage the future generations of architects.
