On Tuesday morning, May 30th, meet the Oak Creek Watershed Council team at Sunset Park at 9:00 am.
We'll welcome everyone, have a brief discussion about safety, and then disperse to pick up litter from the holiday weekend. Cleanup efforts may include a few areas: Sunset Park itself, the trail that leads to Shelby Drive, and the parking area; and trails into Carroll Canyon, which is an important tributary wash that leads to Oak Creek. The Council will provide gloves, trash bags, and trash pickers. Volunteers are encouraged to dress for the weather - wear closed-toed shoes, bring water to stay hydrated, and arrive with positive energy! Depending on how much litter we encounter, we'll plan to conclude around 11:45 am. We'll return supplies, weigh and record the litter we collect, and pose for a group photo.
