Greetings to our honorable guests! I would like to welcome you to our first annual Juneteenth Gala Fashion Show presented by LaMark Cole & Arizona Royalty Salon! Event will be located at Fabric Event space 132 E 6th st, Tempe, Az 85281 from 6pm -11pm. Juneteenth has always stayed near and dear to our hearts, on this day we recognize the struggles and sacrifices in black culture and also celebrate our triumphant wins while pushing the needle forward! Dress code colors are red, black, green upscale attire! Red to stand for struggle and sacrifice. Black to stand for black people. Green to stand for the natural wealth of the land of Africa. What to expect? Live band, Open Bar, Guest Speakers, Live Fashion Show, Dj, Hors d’oeuvres, Step and repeat, 360 booth, Juneteenth balloon wall. Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, the date on which enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, finally received the news they were free. This was two years after President Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation, one year after the Senate passed the 13th Amendment, abolishing slavery, on April 18, 1864, and six months after it was passed by the House on January 31, 1865.
