We are excited and honored to come together for Murph again this year! ----------------------------------- About Murph: Memorial Day is a powerful day of reflection, remembrance and honor for all Americans. As CrossFitters we have our own way of embracing this day and honoring those who gave everything for us to have freedom and the ability to live in the greatest country in the world. We do this by tackling the workout "Murph" together. For those unfamiliar, “Murph” is a classic CrossFit workout known as a Hero WOD. Hero WOD’s are made by CrossFit to honor the men and women who have fallen in the line of duty. This one specifically honors Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, who was killed in action in Afghanistan on June 28th, 2005. "Murph" 1 mile Run 100 Pull-Ups 200 Push-Ups 300 Air Squats 1 mile Run *With a 20 lb Vest or Body Armor This workout was Michael’s favorite workout to do, and at the time referred to it as “Body Armor” -- hence the 20 lb vest or body armor as part of the workout prescription. So, every year, CrossFitters all around the world pay special tribute to all fallen veterans by joining together and taking on this challenging workout together. This is a special time to reflect, remember and honor those who have sacrificed all so that we may enjoy the freedoms we have. What better way than to come together in remembrance. Today is not about us, it is about honoring the fallen. It is about putting ourselves through something HARD and going through it TOGETHER. It is remembering that we are blessed to be where we are now and this blessing should not be taken for granted. For many creating and preserving this blessing COST everything. John 15:13 ----------------------------------- Structure of the day: Heat Times- 7:00am 7:45am 8:45 - Group photo and national anthem (be there!) 9:00am 9:45am * You must Register through Eventbrite so we are prepared for the number of people ----------------------------------- **REMINDER Coaches will be there to help with any questions regarding workout, movements, scales, etc... please feel free to ask us questions! ALL are able to participate regardless of fitness level. Warm - up space will be available and you will want to come at least 20 min earlier than your registered time to ensure you are ready to roll at your start time. Food will be provided: Burgers and Dogs (feel free to bring things to drink or share!) ** This is a family friendly event, however kids will need to remain within an arms reach of the parents or in the designated kids area if parents are working out. This is a safety concern and we need to make sure that every one has a great experience! Due to both Safety and Allergies please DO NOT bring any pets, while we all love them very much please leave them at home.
