The OSBC had a walk at Tillingaust on May 7th where we were the first group in the state to hear the now famous Chuck-Wills-Widow this year. We will be going back hoping to duplicate our success. The group also had Woodcocks and Whip-poor-wills calling along with deafening Spring Peepers.
Conditions: Participants should plan on walking through knee high grass and protect themselves from ticks and mosquitoes. Total walking distance is less than a mile partially through tall grass and about half will be road walking. Hiking boots or sturdy sneakers are recommended. We will be walking back to our cars after dark so a headlamp or flashlight is also recommended.
Directions: We will meet at the parking lot on Plain Rd between 7:30-7:40. There is an outhouse but be forewarned there isn't a light inside.
