Description

This three-part workshop series is exploring what marginalized groups of people experience while recreating outdoors in NCW, and what actions can be taken so all people feel welcomed and have access. The first workshop was held May 11 and was about what women of color experience in the outdoors. Here are the two final workshops in the series: June 8, 6 to 8 p.m., at the Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center — Screening of the “Ascend” and “Elevated” films, followed by a panel discussion about what people with disabilities experience in the outdoors. Nancy Grette of the Alatheia Therapeutic Riding Center will moderate the panel discussion. June 29, 6 to 8 p.m., at the Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center — Screening of the “This Land” and “Here We Stand” films, followed by the brainstorming of action steps that will help make nature and the outdoors more accessible in NCW, led by facilitators Appetizers, adult beverages and water will be provided on June 8 and June 29, along with child care and other accommodations upon request.
