#Photowalk305 presents: Miami Women can shoot! This month’s photowalk is a special one: it is our first Women-Only photowalk! Photography has been and continues to be heavily dominated by men. And thus, it is necessary to cultivate spaces where women feel safe — and free from the male gaze — to express and explore their femininity and creative endeavors. The theme for this month’s photowalk is Women Supporting Women, where participants will be each other’s muse and main subject, while delving into portraiture and street photography. This photowalk will take place in Coconut Grove. We will meet, greet, eat at Planta Queen, and then we will walk off the food while taking photos in the neighborhood, all the way into the golden hour. This photowalk is open to all female-identifying analogue & digital photographers. Participants are encouraged to upload their photos onto their social media platform and hashtag #photowalk305. Participants are welcome to share the images from the photowalk to receive feedback from emerging and established photographers, on “Zoom Photo Thing”, hosted by Bill Maguire on Monday 26 June at 7pm.
