Death in everyday life could be thought of as experiencing all the things we want to avoid. Possibly in the form of disappointment when things are not working out the way we want them to. When there is change in our life, there is a death. From the smallest thing of finishing a meal to life's harder challenges such as a marriage isn't working, a career is ending, or even the death of a loved one, we experience death in everyday life. It is a natural occurrence that things will change as nothing lasts forever, however getting older, getting sick, losing what we love, we don't see those events as natural occurrences. While our motivation is to ward off death as much as possible, having a relationship with death in everyday life gives us strength to sit with insecurity, fear, and panic when things are not working out. It leads us to insight and compassion.
