We're fully into Spring Cleaning at the 18-acre Forest Restoration site in the Billy Johnson Mountain Lakes Nature Preserve -- and you're invited! During this session, volunteers will work under the guidance of FOPOS’ stewardship staff to revisit the forest restoration site and make a sweep for invasive plant outbreaks. Target species for removal include wineberry, Japanese honeysuckle vine, multiflora rose, and garlic mustard. Our work will protect the thousands of establishing native plants that were installed by volunteers in 2019-2021. Click here to read about the Forest Restoration Project. Registration via Eventbrite is required. PLEASE COMPLETE THIS WAIVER FORM AND BRING IT WITH YOU BYO: Be sure to bring a water bottle and work gloves. We recommend wearing long sleeves, long pants, and work boots/sneakers--this will best protect you from thorns, ticks, and poison ivy. We ask that if you are feeling sick or have potentially been exposed to the COVID-19 virus, to please stay home and join us at another time. Meeting Location: Mountain Lakes House Parking lot, 57 Mountain Ave, Princeton NJ, 08540. Be sure to drive down the long paved driveway entrance to the Billy Johnson Mountain Lakes Nature Preserve, marked by a series of black mail boxes, the gravel parking lot is on your left about a 1/2 mile down the driveway.
