Please join us on Thursday, May 25, 2023 for the Cruz Reynoso Bar Association's 2023 Defensor de Justicia Award Ceremony honoring Judicial Appointments Secretary Luis Cespedes. The Defensor de Justicia Award Ceremony is the CRBA's community service award created in homage to the late Justice Cruz Reynoso for individuals who share his commitment to advancing social justice in the legal field and in our society. Past year's recipients include Secretary Xavier Becerra (Department of Health and Human Services), Dean Kevin Johnson (UC Davis King Hall School of Law), Judge David De Alba (Ret. - Sacramento Couty Superior Court) and Judge Emily E. Vasquez (Ret. - Sacramento County Superior Court). The CRBA will also award a student scholarship to a local area law student whose career path demonstrates a commitment to the values and mission of the late Justice Cruz Reynoso and the Cruz Reynoso Bar Association. Light appetizers and refreshments will be available for all guests. This is a limited capacity event and RSVP via Eventbrite is required to attend.
