Description

The days are warmer, trees are budding, flowers are blooming, birds are nesting and days are getting longer. Take a walk, literally, towards better Mental and Physical Health - Please join me for a restorative experience of Forest & Nature Therapy. Forest Therapy, or Shinrin-yoku, is a practice of connecting with nature through our senses - or “Bathing” our senses in the atmosphere of the Forest. It is more than just walking in the forest, this practice encourages participants to experience nature in an attentive and authentic way. Initially studied in Japan, research on the benefits of Forest Bathing is now global. There are many health benefits of this practice that include improved blood pressure, better sleep, and it can boost our immune system. Spending time in nature, and Forest Therapy, has also shown to reduce stress, improve mood, increase focus and creativity. Please park in the lot across from the Pavilion on Green Hill Parkway (Between the Farm & Vietnam Veterans Memorial). We will meet at the East-West Trail. Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes early, so that the walk can begin on time. The walk will be led by a certified Forest Therapist and will include a series of invitations to explore the forest in your own unique way, and will end in a Forest Tea Party. This is an easy to navigate trail and will be under ½ mile in length (we will not be walking the entire loop of this trail). The Walk is 2.5 hours.
