Join the Creation Care Ministry at Trinity Church Boston and the Neponset River Watershed Association for a prayerful and educational walk along the Neponset River. This slow-paced walk (2.2 miles total) along a portion of the Neponset River Greenway in Milton, Dorchester and Mattapan will introduce participants to this beautiful natural resource in our urban landscape. Described by the Boston Globe as a hidden jewel that has become a tarnished gem, the Neponset River is now the focus of a major clean-up effort by the US Environmental Protection Agency. Designated a Superfund Site in 2022, federal resources are now being used to clean and restore the river. Participants will learn how we can support efforts to restore the river and ensure residents of abutting Boston neighborhoods and all Massachusetts people can enjoy its natural beauty again. Transportation: Street parking available, public transit access via the Milton Stop on the Red Line's Mattapan High Speed Trolley (departing from Ashmont Station) Note, there will be multiple places to hop off the trail and take public transportation back to the start.
